What Gets Kept is the first vinyl LP recorded by renowned author and arts critic Lynne Tillman. Recorded in Brooklyn in June 2014, ten excerpts are featured on the LP read by Tillman.

Collapsing context and time, lacing earlier works with more recent, the body of work unfurls the intricacy and idiosyncrasy which lives within Tillman’s masterful repertoire. The LP is limited to 500 copies and features artwork by German painter Peter Dreher, whom Tillman dedicated an essay toward in 2014 book of essays, What Would Lynne Tillman Do?

What Gets Kept features excerpts from What Would Lynne Tillman Do? (2014), Someday This Will Be Funny (2011), No Lease on Life (1998), Madame Realism Complex (1992), Motion Sickness (1991) Absence Makes the Heart (1990), and Haunted Houses (1987).
